Meeting with NSF Officials in Washington, DC

A coordination meeting for the Advanced Modular Incoherent Scatter Radar (AMISR) project, took place on January 28, 2011 at the headquarters of the National Science Foundation (NSF) in Washington D.C. Representatives from the NSF, Dr. Robert Robinson, Program Officer; Dr. John Kelly, SRI International; Dr. Diego Janches, NASA Goddard; Ms. Jessica Robinson, NSF International Office and Dr. Juan F. Arratia, Principal Investigator, were present at the meeting. The main task for this meeting was to organize the visit to Buenos Aires and La Plata for a group of officials from the USA, during the week of February 21, 2011. Dr. Diego Janches would be the coordinator for the visit. The visiting team to Argentina would examine the location where the AMISR system will be installed. They would meet with officials of the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Ténicas (CONICET), Comisión Nacional de Comunicaciones (CNC), scientists and engineers from Universidad de La Plata, and representatives from the United States Embassy in Buenos Aires.
